President’s Message

I am very excited about the big plans we have made for Medford Township’s Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display! This year the event will feature a Kid’s Activity Zone sponsored by YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Inc., demonstrations, music with special guest No Commitment, a great food court and many other attractions. And, of course, after dusk, Medford’s spectacular 4th of July fireworks display!

We are thankful for our sponsors whose generosity helps make the event happen. Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor, ShopRite of Medford, our Kids Activity Area sponsor YMCA Camp Ockanickon, and our Main Stage Sponsor Columbia Bank.  Other Core Sponsors with whom we couldn’t hold this event without include  Archer & Greiner, P.C., Padden Cooper, Rita’s Water Ice of Medford, Radwell International, Inc., Bob Meyer Communities and Medford Ford.  Also lending big support are PJ Whelihan’s Pubs, Polymer Solutions International and Century 21 Meyer Real Estate. Thank you all so much!

As a result of the combined efforts of the volunteers of Medford Celebrates and our sponsors, after a two-year absence, the Fireworks returned to Medford in 2012. We cannot allow events, or our fireworks to disappear again. Medford Celebrates not only intends to stage the fireworks celebration every year, but we hope to make it bigger and better.

Through the generosity of our sponsors, and the help and support of our community and Delaware Valley residents, we proved we can make it happen. Some families attending the fireworks will place donations in the collection cans, some will donate using their mobile phone, some will donate right now using this website. I would like to personally ask you to join those who have supported this event and make a donation today. Your donation is tax deductible, and large or small – it truly helps – please donate now, or mail your donation to Medford Celebrates, Inc., P.O. Box 933, Medford, NJ 08055.

Hosting an event of this size for thousands of South Jersey residents and visitors takes a team of people and, frankly, cannot be shouldered by the Medford Celebrates Trustees alone. We need volunteers now and throughout the year for fundraising and planning efforts. Please find out more and consider being a volunteer. Sometimes, just having someone at a Medford Celebrates’ table collecting donations for a few hours is a big help. If we are to continue, we need help planning and executing Medford’s fireworks and other events. If you have a little extra time, chip in – you’ll be surprised how much of an impact a small amount of your time will make.

In these ways, you can help assure that we will be able to stage the Fireworks year-after-year. Help support the community events that are part of the traditions and memories of so many Medford and Delaware Valley families. Thank you for your time and support, and enjoy the show!
